Manchester – Manchester United managed to secure Andreas Pereira from the pursuit of other teams. ‘Red Devils’ young midfielder just tying it with a new contract.
Pereira previously been linked with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain because it never signed a new contract. In fact, he was the previous contract will expire at the end of this season.
However, question marks about the future of Pereira finally answered on Friday (05/01/2015). MU has given a new three-year contract to Pereira. Both parties have the option to extend the contract for another year in 2018.
“I am delighted to have signed my new contract,” said Pereira.
“I am at the right club to continue my development as a player and learn as much as possible. I want to thank my family and God for the opportunity given to me,” said the 19-year-old player.
Pereira MU recruited from PSV Eindhoven in 2011. She performed regularly for Manchester United U-21, but until now has not had many opportunities to shine in the first team the Red Devils.
Pereira, who was born in Belgium but defended the Brazilian national team at various age groups, has twice played for the Manchester United first team. He came on as a substitute in the English League Cup match against MK Dons, in August, then diving debut in the Premier League when Manchester United beat Tottenham Hotspur, in March.
“Andreas has all the ability to be an important part of the first team. He has a great natural talent combined with a great willingness to learn,” said the Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal.
“I am pleased with the progress so far and wanted to work with him to develop his talent further,” said Van Gaal.
