Manchester – Louis van Gaal assess Ryan Giggs works very well as an assistant at Manchester United. Van Gaal was hoping Giggs will be his successor when he was no longer the manager of Manchester United.
After being appointed as manager of Manchester United in the summer of last year, Van Gaal chose Giggs as an assistant. As someone who spent his entire career as a player at Manchester United, Giggs is considered to know the club inside out and it is very important to Van Gaal.
Giggs even been caretaker manager at the end of last season, after the club sacked David Moyes.
Van Gaal, who has a contract until 2017 with the Red Devils, assume Giggs has performed satisfactorily. If you no longer occupy the seat MU manager, he wants to replace Giggs.
“I hope he will be the next manager after I go,” said Van Gaal told MUTV.
“Now I am in charge. He has a duty, that he should work fine as well as the players. For me, he does his job very well,” he said.
Van Gaal also see the similarity between Giggs and his former assistant at Barcelona, Jose Mourinho, who is now the manager of Chelsea.
“He reads the game very well, like Jose. But, to manage a team you have to learn. All I can see is that he also learned quickly,” he said.
