London – If you want to become champions of the Premier League next season, Arsenal assessed should change their mentality. The Gunners are asked not consider the top four finish as an achievement.
Arsenal always qualify for the Champions League in the last 17 seasons. However, they have not become champions of the Premier League. ‘Gunner’ last won the league in 2003/2004 ago. Afterwards, their best achievement was a runner-up in the 2004/2005 season.
In the last few seasons, Arsenal more preoccupied with hunting tickets for the Champions League than the league title race. Arsenal eventually did manage to qualify for the Champions League, but they should not just be satisfied with the achievement.
Arsenal legend, Frank McLintock, assess his former club should change their mentality. According McLintock, important for Arsenal to focus on the league title chase and did not make the break-out into the Champions League as the main target.
“I think we should be a little better than we are now. But, they were to look good. I’m glad they do well, it is a good sign,” said McLintock to Perform.
“I do not want to see Arsenal’s talk about the top-four. I do not believe they set a target that is so low. They should talk about the desire to win the league and win the first Champions League trophy,” said Arsenal defender in the 1964-1973 period.
“I do not want to see us talk as if the top four finish is good enough. We should set a target that is much higher,” he said.
Arsenal were second in the Premier League standings. They left behind seven points from Chelsea who are in the top position.
