Liverpool – Brendan Rodgers revealed the reason behind the absence of Daniel Sturridge in the match against Newcastle United. He also gave the latest news about the injury Mamadou Sakho.
Sturridge does not appear at all when Liverpool host Newcastle at Anfield in the Premier League on Tuesday (04/14/2015) pm dawn earlier. 25-year-old striker was apparently having problems on her hips.
Rodgers said if Sturridge got the problem in the FA Cup quarter-final match against Blackburn Rovers. Rodgers hopes Sturridge could recover in time and appear in the FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa on Sunday (04/19/2015) future.
“Daniel Sturridge injury of the game against Blackburn and he was not fit for this evening. The problem is on his hip, but hopefully he’ll be fine for the weekend,” Rodgers said on the club’s official website.
“I probably will know more in this week. He said he he was quite okay, so we hope in the middle of the week we will get a good indication about the condition.”
Meanwhile, bad news came from Sakho. French defender who suffered a hamstring injury in the game against Blackburn called to be out for three to four weeks.
“Maybe three to four weeks,” said Rodgers when asked about how long Sakho will miss.
Thus, Sakho certainly can not appear in a game against Aston Villa.
