London – After performing okay in the first half, Arsenal’s performance declined after the break that allows Leicester City scored a reply. Arsene Wenger relieved as Arsenal eventually won.
Entertaining Leicester at the Emirates on Wednesday (11/2) pm dawn, Arsenal appear to dominate in the first 45 minutes with the advantage of two goals by Laurent Koscielny and Theo Walcott.
However, after the break Leicester become more aggressive so as to score a reply that made Andrej Kramaric. Having reduced the score, The Foxes continued to press but Arsenal survived to come out as winners.
The win raised Arsenal’s position in the standings with ranks fourth with 45 points. Arsenal have the same points with Southampton on it but lost on goal difference.
“I felt we controlled the game in the first half but when we took over control of the game they have one or two good chances on the counter-attack,” said the Arsenal manager in the club’s official website.
“In the second half we lost cohesion, technical superiority and Leicester are always dangerous when they attack. They were very fast in the last transition to the attack. In an 2-1, we became a little nervous but overall what is important is to get three points.”
Wenger did not deny that his team was affected by the defeat of Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. When it is, Spurs turn things around 2-1 after coming from behind at the beginning of the game.
“It was a little taken possession of their minds, especially in the second half. The defeat of Tottenham also occur in late. Saturday’s game was an intense match and three days later (play again), it is not easy,” added Wenger.
