Milan – Javier Zanetti optimistic Roberto Mancini will be able to generate Inter Milan. According to Zanetti, Mancini will be successful if the club provides full support.
Mancini Inter coach back seat since the middle of last month. He was appointed to replace Walter Mazzarri were fired.
Mancini has so far led the Nerazzurri in three games. Only one victory that he can give, namely on the Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the Europa League. In other action at stage two Serie A, Inter drew 1-1 with AC Milan and AS Roma defeated 2-4.
Inter are now in 11th place in Serie A with the acquisition of 17 points. They left behind 17 points from Juventus standings.
“Against Roma, I saw an Inter team that will evolve,” said Zanetti, Inter’s former captain, now a vice president of the club, as quoted by Football Italia.
“We faced a tough team and we have to focus on the positive things that we do,” he continued.
“Roberto will work well and as a club we have to be ready to give all that he needs to be successful in this season,” added Zanetti.
After Mancini was appointed as the new coach of Inter reportedly been eyeing a number of players to be recruited. Players, among others, Ezequiel Lavezzi (Paris Saint–Germain), Erik Lamela (Tottenham Hotspur), and Alessio Cerci (Atletico Madrid).
“Lamela, Cerci, and Lavezzi are great players. There are still three games (until the January transfer window opened), Roberto will speak to us and we will try to understand what is needed to improve the position in the standings,” said Zanetti.
