Yes, the competition started with two wins, City slipped even in the face of Stoke City with a 0-1 run aground. Is Pellegrini plans to replace Joe Hart with Caballero?
“I’m not going to replace goalkeeper Willy Caballero with Joe Hart to make a mistake. Perhaps Joe Hart last season was not too okay but he finished the season with a nice., But Willy is also a very good goalkeeper,” Pellegrini said as quoted by Soccerway.
“If you want to be a top goalkeeper, you must have the full attributes, good distribution, knowing where the ball, good at one on one and not conceding early in the game.
“Willy had a career that is okay. However, it is important to create competition in every position on the team, not just Joe Hart and Willy Caballero. Replacing Joe Hart with Willy Caballero will not make a difference,” explained the Chilean manager.
But Pellegrini preferred to make curious fans. He allowed them to await certainty goalkeeper who will show up before the game.
“Later we will face Arsenal and 1 hour 15 minutes before kick–off you will know the goalkeeper who became a starter,” he said.
But, Caballero has bad memories of a meeting with Arsenal. When lined up to star as a goalkeeper in the Community Shield in August this year, City beaten 0-3.
