Now Liverpool Stronger Although Suarez Not There
Liverpool – Liverpool are believed to strength decreased significantly after the departure of Luis Suarez. But not according to Southampton manager Ronald Koeman.
Soton will be the first test of Liverpool in the Premier League this 2014-2015 season in a match at Anfield on Sunday (08/17/2014) evening hrs later. One thing that is expected is how to cope with losing Suarez Liverpool who moved to Barcelona in the transfer market this summer.
There was a little dubious ‘The Red‘ can repeat the impressive performance last season, when it managed to emerge as one of the title contenders to eventually finish in second place. In fact, in the last season, Suarez has become an important actor with a contribution of 32 goals and 21 assists on 101 goals scored Liverpool.
But for Koeman, this assumption is not entirely correct because the Merseyside team has brought a number of quality players. So far, Rodgers has recruited eight new players of which is Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Emre Can, and the latest is Alberto Moreno.
“Luis Suarez is a great player who scored a lot of goals for them., But if you look thoroughly into the Liverpool squad, they have so many good players. Liverpool are much stronger than last season,” said Koeman.
While acknowledging the strength of the opponent, Koeman insists his team ready to hunt for the best results in the game later. One thing that makes it fairly optimistic note is that in the first meeting last season, his team managed to topple Liverpool at Anfield with the score 1-0.
“It is a good start for us to play away against Liverpool. We know this is a difficult game but all teams start from zero. Players know how to win at Anfield. We are ready to play,” he said as quoted by Sky Sports.
